Welcome to the CatzWalk Blog

Our blog is a place to discuss halter and leash training your cat. We've created a Cat’zwalk training video to dispel the myth that it’s difficult to accomplish this feat. We are two sisters who’ve been walking our cats for years and would love to hear your views and answer any questions you might have about creating a safe outdoor experience for your feline.

Our website is located at http://catzwalk.com so come check us out!

Hello. Interesting site!

In your experience how long do cats generally retain the training if they go awhile without using a harness? For example, if they go a few weeks without having the harness on them, then will they forget all the training? Is it best to harness them up every few days?

Thanks,

Thanks for asking a very important question. We have been walking our cats for over ten years. From our experience, once a cat has completed a proper training course, it never forgets. This is true even if there are occasions where there is a time lapse of several months between their walks. We are passionate about our Cat'zWalk video for this very reason. We've found that the KEY is embracing the proper training from day one.

Hi Dee, You have Grace all excited again about taking me outdoors. She has watched the video and even had me looking at it (what was she thinking?)—after all my eyes aren’t that good you know. You and Dari did a great job—but I think the cats should get all the praise.

You made it seem very easy. The lessons and suggestions and timing were very helpful. She laughed with the dead cat walking segment. Your yard looks beautiful and I wish I could go to the beach sometime. We both liked the music and I heard Grace remark that the packaging was great and arrived promptly.

I have to share that Grace tried walking me after she had me for awhile. She got the right halter and the right leash. However, we were in her yard and I heard a dog bark and flew into the bushes—with Grace struggling behind me in a mess. I think she needed a few lessons. She never took me out again and sold my halter at a garage sale! Your cats looked very calm she said. She wondered about the panic moments!!

I enjoyed seeing you recently and hope you will come back. Love, the Tobster and his staff
